Orthopaedic Research Centre
The Orthopaedic Research Centre, in the Dept of Orthopaedic Surgery, The University of Hong Kong was established in 1995. Since its inception, the goal has been to develop a strong foundation in musculoskeletal research. The newly created Center is a multidisciplinary venture dedicated to achieving the highest standards in both clinical and baseic scientific research. The Research Center has acquired a solid reputation in its commitment and contributions towards high impact Research regionally. As our areas of research are diverse, our facilities consist of 8000 sq-ft laboratory space located at the Laboratory block of Faculty of Medicine Building and at the Duchess of Kent Children’s Hospital. In addition to a collection of state of the art equipment to progress our studies, our Research Center also includes team members who strive for research excellence, probing for a better understanding for all aspects of orthopaedic related issues. With such a solid foundation in research skill and manpower, we are confident that our research will advance the current comprehension in orthopaedic knowledge, leading to new innovative ideas and techniques for the future. The Orthopaedic Research Center anticipate meeting new challenges and will continue to excel in high quality research which mainly focused on orthopaedic related cell biomechanics & biomaterials, molecular and cell biology, and musculoskeletal tissue engineering.
